Sashiko

Sashiki - This was a preprinted design that I did in both variegated and plain blue.

This bag is a "rice bag". I did three small panels of Sashiko and decided to incorporate them into this bag. The "rice bag" is something originating in Japan that the people used to take offerings to their temples. The bags were made of scrapes of fabric.

baskets

Three new baskets finished in October - top one was made from a painted gourd that I bought, middle one has seeds implanted in a plastic/acrylic base, and bottom one was made with walnut shell slices.

Picture taken from front window. This black bear was scared away with a whistle but another one appeared two days later and was also scared of the whistle. The next morning I found the bird feeder gone and the pole it was on bent at a 45 degree angle. Bear retaliation???

Needle felted with class with Mattie and made into a carrier for my pad.

Table runner - sewn with the help of rulers and then colored with ink tense pencils textile medium to blend colors.

Being creative

Finished this pine needle basket. It is larger than the other ones I have done (9 ' x 10"). I got the base from Etsy and love the flower and seeds.

Also I have been doing baking. The top one is Chocolate Babka - a heavy swirled bread that has a ganache inside. the bottom one is a Chocolate Yule log. I made a cream cheese filling and ganache for the top. Both are YUMMY!

Decorated for the holidays, haven't done it for a few years, so this year  decided to go for it!

New quilts finished

Table runner title: Ice Fishing

Small quilt title: Circles in the Sand

Both of these quilts are made with ruler work and "quilt as you go" method.
The pattern is sewn and then parts are cut away - sometimes called "reverse applique".

Acrylic pour - redone

This is my 3rd pour - I repoured over the first one because it turned out not so good. I really like this one.
